1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and Axain Studios (“we”, “us”) governing your use of the DocScanX application (“the app”). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you confirm that you accept these Terms and that you are able to enter into a binding agreement.
2. License to use the app
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use DocScanX on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app.
3. Free tier & limits
DocScanX is free to download and use with certain limits — including a maximum number of stored documents and custom folders in the free tier. These limits are described within the app and may be adjusted over time. Upgrading to Premium removes them.
4. Premium purchase
DocScanX offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks Premium features (such as unlimited documents and folders, smart titles and categorization, Face ID lock, advanced export, and an ad-free experience). Key points:
- The purchase is a one-time, non-consumable unlock — not a recurring subscription.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account through the App Store, and is subject to Apple’s terms.
- The purchase can be restored on devices signed in with the same Apple ID using the “Restore Purchases” option in the app.
- Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region and over time. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with App Store policies.
5. Advertising
The free version of the app displays advertising provided by third parties (Google AdMob). Your use of the free version includes the display of these ads. How advertising data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Your content
The documents, images, and text you create or import with DocScanX are yours. We do not claim ownership of your content, and — as explained in our Privacy Policy — your documents are stored on your device rather than uploaded to us. You are solely responsible for your content, including keeping your own backups. Because your data lives on your device, deleting the app or losing the device may result in permanent loss of that data.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use DocScanX lawfully. You must not use the app to scan, store, or distribute material that you do not have the right to handle, that infringes the rights of others, or that violates any applicable law. You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, interfere with, or circumvent the intended functionality or security of the app, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law.
8. Intellectual property
The app itself — including its software, design, logos, and the “DocScanX” and “Axain Studios” names — is owned by Axain Studios and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a license to use the app; they do not transfer any ownership rights to you.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that text recognition, categorization, or other automated features will be perfectly accurate. You are responsible for reviewing the output of the app before relying on it.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Axain Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the app. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid, if any, for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11. Apple & the App Store
These Terms are between you and Axain Studios only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, including the standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). Where those Apple terms and these Terms conflict on Apple-specific matters, the Apple terms govern.
12. Changes to the app or these terms
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the app at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time; when we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the principal place of business of Axain Studios, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country of residence.
